Quotes I Like

  • Beth Moore:
"Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather, to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly shouting, 'Wow! What a ride! Thank You, Lord!'"
  • Compassion International:
"To lack integrity is to lack everything! If Compassion cannot be trusted, we have nothing to offer." (Seen in Facebook 7/17/09)

One-Line Bio

I'm wife/partner/best friend to Bruce; co-owner of a small business; sponsor of 9 girls (with Bruce's 6 boys); impassioned advocate working to find sponsors for other impoverished children; and "mom" to Kat and (Beagle) Bailey.

Biography

Married to Bruce, my best friend for almost 23 years, and counting. Worked as a secretary for 23 years: legal, medical, executive, church, and general business; some purchasing and personnel gave me a different slant, here and there.

A classic late-bloomer, I went back to school at age 40, a few years after a divorce. Studied English Literature (let’s hear it for Shakespeare!), then went on for a master’s degree. Planned to teach high-school English, but student-teaching cured me of that. Taught freshman composition classes in a local community college, until mushrooming student apathy cured me of that.

Now working with Bruce in our own small-but-highly-successful business. We both love the commute to work: my office is right next to the bedroom; his is farther down the hall. Main passion beyond Bruce--a real snuggler--and pets: growing in the knowledge and love of a Savior who loves me more than life, itself; serving Him in corporate worship and advocating for children in extreme poverty.

Interests

niagara falls and poipu beach, kauai., sponsoring many children through Compassion ; volunteering to help bring other children and sponsors together; enjoying Bailey and Kat; and remembering vacations with Bruce in such places as Orcas Island and Durango
