Whether you wandered in out of cyberspace or are family or friend (or both), welcome to my blog!  I hope, over time, it will prove worthwhile.

The topics covered on this blog will fall primarily into the following categories:  Compassion International, grandchildren, pets, vacations, virtually anything related to faith in God, or whatever is on my mind at the time.  While I have some very strong views on political issues, many of which I have expressed in others’ blogs where such discussions are invited, this is not a political blog.  Whether I will occasionally post my thoughts on spiritual and moral issues that have been highly politicized, I don’t know; given the danger of inviting comments that could, indeed, be very political, I will try not to.

One reason I want to avoid political discussion on here is that my volunteer work for Compassion International is far more important to me than changeable political issues.  Compassion is an unabashedly Christian child-sponsorship organization that does not involve itself in politics.  It is Christ-centered, child-focused, church-based and committed to integrity. That is not to say the leaders of Compassion are not concerned about political matters, but politics would be a major distraction from their mission, which could be tragic for the children we serve.

So I hope a few people will come back, from time to time.  If you like what you see, why not tell a friend!  I do not expect to post every day, but knowing how I love to talk, several times a week is possible.

***Note:  When I write about Compassion, I am writing as a sponsor and volunteer.  My comments will not be viewed, edited, written by or necessarily endorsed by Compassion International.  That said, I take great care not to say or do anything that is inconsistent with the principles, purpose, integrity or mission of Compassion . . . or, for that matter, with the calling of Jesus Christ on my life.  I am, of course, still undergoing renovation.

I finally bookmarked your blog...and while emailing seems faster, this is fun, too.CT had a review of the book, but if I remember correctly you have given more information about it.
